Research

The research within SYSDIET is organised in three working groups, concentrating on methodological issues,mechanistic studies and a joint large multicentre human dietary intervention study.The work done with respect to methodological issues includes making and agreeing on joint Standard operating procedures (SOP).

SYSDIET has accomplished SOPs  for collection of fat tissue biopsies, collection of blood, urine and fecal samples for metabolomics, oral glucose tolerance testing, blood pressure measurements, isolation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from blood and general bloodsampling scheme.

The methods have been or will be used in analysis of the samples from the multicentre randomized controlled human dietary intervention, where sample collection has been finalized in late 2010.
