Working Groups

WG 1: Sysbio methods
Nutrigenomic/systems biology methods

Leader Lars Ove Dragsted,
University of Copenhagen, Denmark

The aim is to create a nutritional systems biology platform in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics and bioinformatics, by information sharing, joint training and data analysis.

WG 2: Sample sharing & mechanisms

Leader Ulf Risérus, Uppsala University, Sweden

The aim is to increase critical mass by sharing of study populations for analyses on diet-nutrition-gene-interactions and large scale molecular profiling. These larger analyses will lead tomechanistic studies of regulatory pathways and markers in smaller scale human interventions, animal and cell line studies.

WG 3: Multicentre intervention
Study of dietary factors in humans using systems biology approach

Leader Matti Uusitupa, University of Eastern Finland, Finland

The aim is to plan and conduct a large multi-centre randomised controlled human dietary intervention, using skills of WG 1 and 2 to elucidate the changes in different levels of  human physiology for identification of nutrition related biomarkers for disease pathogenesis and for sensitivity to dietarymodifications.

WG 4: Research Training

Leader Stine Ulven, Akerhus University College, Norway

The aim is to spread the high quality scientific knowledge available within and outside of the proposed NCoE among partners of the SYSDIET. SYSDIET will promote researcher training via organizing yearly workshops and PhD-courses.
